DURGA PUJA: PART 7

A SENSE OF KOLKATA...

The Spirit of Durga recreated in Faridabad

Faridabad is a metropolitan city located in the state of Haryana in North West India. It is part of the National Capital Region. Every year when the Navratris (9 days of religious celebrations and prayer) arrive to lead to the festival of Dussehra (10th day) that signifies the victory of Good over Evil, the city is engulfed in the hustle and bustle of Durga and her deities. People throng the pandals from one place to another amidst food, fun, celebrations and meeting old and new friends and relatives. It is a time when the community comes together to celebrate and revive a sense, a spirit of home; recreated through the Durga Puja pandals, celebrations and rituals.

The following are few glimpses of Kolkatan spirit recreated and manifested in the pandals and entities around them.
